Lending and finance
Lending runs on volume and turnaround. Every hour a consultant spends explaining what documents are needed is an hour not spent on the applications that are already in. This is a WhatsApp agent that handles the asking, collects the paperwork, and passes on only what needs a person.
Running live at Sheshisa Loans since 2025.
Reported by Sheshisa Loans after nine months live, December 2025 to August 2026, across WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
Where the day goes
None of them need a qualified person. All of them arrive at once, on a Monday, after month end, and every single one of them is urgent to the customer asking.
"What do I need to apply?"
Answered dozens of times a day, in four languages, with the same list every time.
"Is my application approved?"
The customer is anxious and will ask again in two hours if nobody replies.
"Where is the nearest branch?"
A question a map could answer, taking up a consultant who is qualified to assess credit.
"When does my payment go off?"
Account questions that arrive in a flood on the same three days every month.
"I sent my documents, did you get them?"
Asked because nobody confirmed receipt, which creates a second conversation about the first one.
"Can you call me back?"
The request that becomes a note on a page, and then becomes a complaint on Hellopeter.
What it takes off your desk
Explains what is needed for an application, in the customer's language, checks whether they have it, and collects the documents in the same conversation before anyone travels to a branch or waits on a consultant.
Ngidinga imali, ngenzenjani?
Ngingakusiza. Udinga i-ID, ama-payslip amathathu okugcina, kanye ne-bank statement yezinyanga ezintathu. Unazo?
Pulls the real status from your system rather than promising to find out, and answers the branch, hours and payment questions that generate enormous volume and require no judgement whatsoever, at any hour.
Any update on my application?
Application 48192 is with assessments and was last updated this morning. You will hear within two working days. Would you like a reminder?
Does not attempt to resolve arrears or disputes itself. It identifies them immediately, opens a ticket in the right department and hands over to a person with the history attached, so the account gets sorted before it turns into a complaint.
I was debited twice this month.
I can see two debits on the 3rd. I am handing this to our accounts team now with both records attached. Reference BR-2841.
An application sitting half finished because the customer never sent the last document gets a reminder. Not a call somebody has to remember to make.
[Two days of silence]
Hi Thabo, your application is still waiting on one bank statement. Send it here whenever you are ready and I will add it.
The part that matters most in credit
In lending, the wrong sentence is not an embarrassment, it is a regulatory problem. The guardrails are written with you before it speaks to a single customer, and the agent stops and hands over rather than improvising near any of them.
Your compliance obligations remain yours. What the agent does is hold the lines you set, consistently, on every conversation, which is more than can be said for a tired consultant at half past four on a Friday. We write those lines with your compliance officer during setup and you sign them off before it goes live.
You will notice we do not publish a resolution percentage for this deployment. The agent was never connected to the client's loan system, so it could not close every request on its own, and a number we cannot stand behind is worth less than no number at all. With an integration, which is what we would build for you, that figure becomes real.
The bottleneck nobody budgets for
Most stalled applications are not declined, they are waiting on a document. The customer photographed it, sent it to the wrong number, or was never told it was missing. The agent asks, receives, confirms and files, then chases what is still outstanding.

"In just nine months, our AI assistant has successfully handled more than 44,000 customer conversations, sent over 303,000 messages, and saved our team an estimated 842 hours of manual work. The impact on our daily operations has been significant."
Every conversation. One system.
We will show you the agent handling them, in isiZulu and in English, on your own material. No meeting and no slides. If it is not convincing you have lost ten minutes.
